It is very common for families to request a Piper to play at a memorial service. The sound is haunting yet soothing. Generally, people with Scottish, British or Irish decent appreciate this type of service. I have played for services for veterans, police and firefighters. It helps in the healing process and adds a special quality to the service.
WHERE WILL THE PIPER FIT IN
The piper can play as much or as little as you wish. I have Piped the family into the service, played a selection during the service, Piped the casket out, and played at the graveside. Ultimately I will play the Pipes wherever it best enhances the service. Give me a call so we can discuss the specifics that will work best for you.
WHAT TUNES ARE APPROPRIATE
Believe it or not, there are 1000’s of bagpipe tunes to play. The most requested tunes that I have played over the years are Amazing Grace or Highland Cathedral. Please check out my "MUSIC SAMPLES” page to hear them.
